MicroSelectron is a system used for multiple brachytherapy applications and is a predecessor of Flexitron. Esteya is electronic brachytherapy used for skin cancer treatment. Venezia is an applicator used in gynecological brachytherapy. Furthermore, in November 2020, Elekta announced Elekta Studio, a complete image-guided brachytherapy workflow in a single room. This would enhance the treatment efficiency and patient comfort.

New product launches and mergers and acquisitions are some of the major strategies adopted by the players to gain market share. For instance, in July 2022, BEBIG Medical successfully acquired Wolf-Medizintechnik GmbH ("WOmed") to broaden its product offering in the field of radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer.

In January 2020, U.S. FDA approved GammaTile therapy for patients with stage I brain cancer. Isoray, Inc. and GT Medical Technology collaboratively developed GammaTile Therapy. According to Isoray, Inc., it is the only radiation therapy specifically designed for the treatment of the brain. The launch of such products over the coming years by market players is expected to accelerate growth.
