Oil palm plantations accounted for 7.7% of the total 290.7 million hectares of area under cultivation for vegetable oils, but accounted for 39.4% of the total vegetable oils output
The average palm oil yield ranges between 1.9 to 4.8 tons per hectare, considerably higher than other vegetable oils
Smallholder plantations collectively held larger tracts of land than integrated players or large-scale plantations
The average landbank size for plantation was 42,600 hectares
Average output of FFB was 496,598 tons per plantation
Top 93 plantations with integrated milling operations, collectively sourced over 104.72 million tons of FFB from independent smallholders, third-party
Of the 328 plantations analyzed, 37.8% of the entities belonged to Indonesia, 27.74% belonged to Thailand, and nearly 18% belonged to South American countries (with Colombia leading the lot)
In 2023, the total CPO output was estimated at 79,834 kilo tons
