In June 2020, Seaborn, the U.S. submarine telecoms network provider, tapped Brazil’s ODATA data centers to enable the expansion of its PoP (Point-of-Presence)in Brazil. Under the agreement, the ODATA datacenter in São Paulo would host Seaborn system and act as an interconnection point for the Seabras-1 submarine cable between São Paulo and New York.

In January 2020, Mexico’s state power utility CFE selected Prysmian S.p.A, Italian cabling and fiber optics company, to deploy a fiber-optic network connectivity project worth USD 38 million. 

This project contract comprises the design, supply, and installation of approximately 5,100fkm of ADSS cables and 9,800fkm of OPGW cables to provide high-speed broadband to 52 remote localities.
